Worst customer service imaginable. I reserved a car for my wife to drive but did it under my name - nowhere did it state that I would be the driver. Thrifty told me CT could switch the name or give me a full refund. The wretched soul we spoke with refused to do either. Even when the Thrifty rep told her they had just done it for another customer not even an hour ago! My wife and I are retiring so CarTrawler just lost a lifetime of business from two people who will be traveling a lot. We’ll never book through them again. Ever!

Absolutely disgraceful customer service!

Really, really awful customer service. Calling what they have "customer service" is an insult to those companies that try to serve customers correctly and fairly. Gave one star because no other way to post review, deserve no stars

Absolutely terrible service. I made a reservation and prepaid for the car, then tried to change the pickup day, on the day of the rental. The website wouldn't work so I emailed the company as evidence that I attempted both to change it before the time and also to show that I attempted to contact them. I received a call from the company asking what date I needed changed and I gave them the new date. When the day came to pick up the car, I called to confirm the reservation before I made the trip. The representative to me that they never changed the date and now it was too late! I told them that I PREPAID for the car and they told me it didn't matter! Complete rip off! The representative was unwilling to make any effort whatsoever to work with me even though the car was already fully paid for! He told me he didn't care about the contractual obligation nor did he care that I had a legal cause of action by paying for a service that was never actually provided! This is a scam. Don't do business with them. They only get one star because it's the only way I could post this comment.

I prepaid for my rental car through Thrifty with CarTrawler as a 3rd party. I went to pick up my rental on May 12th to be told that they could not rent to me because my license would expire on the 14th, 1 day before my rental was due back. The agent told me to make sure I get my refund. I email CarTrawler and explain what happened for them to tell me that I would not be getting a refund because it is my responsibility to have a valid license. But why keep my money? There was no inconvenience to the company and the car was still rented to another renter. CROOKS! Even the rental agent told me to never prepay. How are they still in business??????? At this point, I don't even want to use Thrifty in the future!

I'm hesitant to even give one star. I booked a car here, needed to cancel the reservation, and was told that I would receive a full refund if I showed proof of another reservation. Two employees told me the same thing. I submitted proof of the reservation and was told my case would be seen by a manager, who would resolve it. Instead, I heard back from a third employee (conveniently using a no-reply email) saying that I would just have to pay the full amount for the reservation I was hoping to cancel. I rent cars frequently, but I will certainly never use CarTrawler or one of it's affiliated companies again.
