Me and my girlfriend were looking for a last minute vacation and we said that we should give it a chance to a 3 day tour of NYC, Washington and Philadelphia. The price was very attractive and the landmarks presented suggested that we'll have a great time.
We knew from the very beginning that it's a bilingual tour and we were expecting a Chinese guide and we were fine with the idea, but the reality was completely different than our expectation where the guide would be supposed to know how to speak in English.
The main language of the tour was Chinese (we were only 2 who weren't speaking Chinese in a 25 people group), but the guide definitely discriminated us. For every 5 minutes of history in Chinese we would have a 30 seconds in English like "on the right side you see Capitol Hill" or "we stopped to visit for half hour. Be back by that hour". We definitely did not had a real guide, we had someone who only told us the schedule, name of 2-3 places on the road, where we can find restrooms in the museums and that was all. I asked multiple times to give us more details about what were visiting and the answer was "you'll find english (informations) inside the museum" .
Also, we were charged extra for the museum tickets than the price at the gate (you must pay upfront and you are not allowed to buy tix by yourself) and they wanted to charge us an extra fee for a" mandatory" NYC night tour that was a ride across the town with their own bus.
Do not waste your money on a trip that has no guide! It's going to piss you off and ruin your vacation!
