Great place close to beach. Linens are not so good so we bought our own. Otherwise i fully reccomend this pla e.

Stayed in room #2. Hotel is older but they have fixed it up quaint. Room was cleanish with a few minor exceptions. Bed was comfortable to me. Though pillows were rock hard. Big problem is the shower. In my three nights there I couldn't get one good shower due to the hot water being off/on. I tried letting it run for 10 minutes first thinking this would clear out any cold patches between the hot water heater and the shower but no luck... it was constant jumping in and out of the shower as the water got hot than cold, hot.. cold... hot... cold.
In addition there was cold snap while I was there and the little oil filled heater in the room did not prove sufficient to take the chill out of the room. I had to open the oven and turn it on to warm the room up.
When walking barefoot on the tile floors you can tell they use soapy water to mope the tiles but never mop rinse the tiles. They feel slick and stinky with soap film when walking on them.
If you can live with the water situation it might be worth it for having a stove and fridge and oven but I don't think I'll be staying there again

We stayed at the parrot inn during Jan. 2016. We had a roomy one bedroom apt. Close to Anna Maria Island, a good value for the cost.

All I can say is that it was a place to take a shower and rest your head and that is it. We stayed in room three and it was full of out dated beach knickknack's. The grass skirt window curtains were full of black mold and the shower tile shower curtains as well. You could see that the owners tried to keep the place up but it is falling apart around them. The pictures they have posted on there website must have been taken about twenty years ago. What I will give them is that there is no carpet on the floors only tile and there were no bugs. Beds were "ok" just make sure that when your partner gets out of bed that they warn you so that you don't end up on the floor. One of the nights we stayed someone had attempted to open the room door don't know if it was a lost guest or what. The lock on the doors are really old and I could have kicked inn the door with ease. If the Parrot Inn was not so close to "Anna Maria Island" and the beaches it would have closed down years ago. But if you are cheap and want a old clean room this would be the place for you.
