Very good patient relations.twice in the last month she made sure i had everything i needed.everything.dewey and brandon made sure that i relaxed.2 of the best vacation days i took in my 17 year career with my employer

Called due to bleeding but I was told Dr Shay isn’t seeing her patients rather she is scheduling everyone with her Nurse Practioner & it would be a month before the nurse could see me. The staff advised I go to ER if the bleeding continued. The bleeding got so bad I ended up going to the ER. When I got to the ER I found they failed to mention Dr Shay no longer services Aultman Hospital so another doctor had to be brought in. The ER doctor needed to review my records so I requested a copy sent over. After discharge I really wanted to review everything with Dr Shay and try to get answers for what I was going through. I confirmed my long awaited appt with Dr Shay’s NP. Showed up on time for my 7am appt to find out Dr Shay cancelled it & all services for my having my past records reviewed by the ER doctor. I talked with Dr Shay and though I requested her care but she was cold and didn’t care that she was leaving me without medical care. I absolutely do not recommend Dr Mona Shay’s practice!

Blood in my stool for my whole semester of college (long time). My doctor's office made the first appointment for me. I told the nurse all of my symptoms and everything. Dr. Shay came in for a total of probably two minutes to tell me she's going to do a colonoscopy. Great because this is effecting my college performance by now. WRONGO. The prep solution made me sick the night before and I threw up (not her fault she couldn't have known, but it doesn't have unusually high percentages of sicknesses after). I called the doctor on call and he instructed me to stop taking it and he would cancel my colonoscopy for the following day. My colonoscopy was scheduled for December 27th. It is now January 13th. I have left countless messages and they have only called me back once. I've had blowups, vomiting, and nausea in the past week. I called them expecting a call back the next day. It's been three days and they have yet to call me back. I get it can be busy, but when someone is suffering this bad you generally call them back as soon as you hear the message. I will never, as a doctor, treat my patients the way this doctor's office has treated me. I am appalled at the lack of "bedside manner " and lack of patient interest. I'm horrified and finding a new gastroenterologist.
