Big facility and can be overwhelming. Hall's and rooms are large and easily accessible, as are the shower/bathing areas.

I love McKinley Health Care center, the staff, nurses, aides, and everyone there does an exceptional job, especially on the Alzheimer unit, if i had to place my loved one there, I would choose this facility.GREAT JOB, to all those that work hard, and that are underpaid.

I could not disagree more with the negative reviews. Our loved one has been moved 8x in the past 6 months. He has been in places which look nicer on the outside, but no staff has been more caring than those at McKinley. They take time with those in their care and try to help them function at their best. It may not be as "pretty" as some other places, but I don' think that you will find a staff more passionate about their work, than those at McKinley.

Sadly, the good folks at this establishment are buried somewhere under the bad. Even on the top floor, supposedly the best suite, there are long response times for patient calls, long wait times even after the call is answered, short-staffing issues, cleaning issues, food issues, and communication issues. I tend to give second chances to people and establishments and I have here, but finally, my patience and chance-giving has just run out.

Unless you like your loved one sleeping with mice, and having overworked staff and a administration more concerned about money then the residents. Look elsewhere. The food is stagnant and the portions are pathetic. The assistant DON got her degree from a online program and has no real clinical expeirence nor can she handle any real life situation and makes false accusations about staff. Needless to say I dont have to go on.
