Excellent. These people are a professionals. And they get you in and out fast. Instead of trying to get an appointment with my primary Doc I can just walk in and get the correct diagnosis and the correct meds for what is ailing me. Remember these folks see the sniffles, coughs and congestions all day long and are good at what they do. I have been going there since 2006 and never experienced any difficulties.

I needed 'urgent care' because I had a painful right hand, from a bicycle accident, and needed an X-ray. Also, thanks to Obamacare I could no longer use my previous primary care physician (can't blame MercyCare for that, of course). I called in and explained my situation, they told me to come right in.
When I did they made me wait, as one would expect, but then when the Dr arrived he immediately told me they did not have X-ray capabilities at the moment. He expressed some shock I had not been informed before I came in. So I went home and came back the next morning. Sure enough, my hand was broken, so it wasn't a wasted trip. Except for the first one.
Again, apparently not their fault, but when I asked for an email with a copy of the X-ray in it they said it was impossible. Apparently somebody in Washington thinks my privacy might be violated if I have someone send me a copy of my X-ray via email. As if I care - I just want a copy of my damn X-ray. It is of my hand, after all, and I did pay for the X-ray. If somebody wants to steal an electronic copy of my X-ray I don't really give a damn.
Fortunately there is a solution - burn me a CD. What a waste of time and energy and money, but what the heck I guess that's what Washington wants to do now - run up medical bills.
I took the CD home and ... no luck. There are literally hundreds of files on the CD, but the program that, in theory, will allow me to see my X-ray errors out.
I call MercyCare, and the X-ray technician says ... get this ... only hospitals/medical professionals can actually see the X-ray. Huh?
At the moment she is checking to see what to do, and will call me back.
Everyone has been very pleasant, but ... OK here is the call back.
Oh great - they do not have the ability to make a readable copy for me. Maybe the hospital does. But of course they will not be around until Monday (today is Saturday).
I can't blame MercyCare too much, but could I possibly be the only person they have ever treated who simply wanted an electronic copy of their X-ray, to post on Facebook or whatever? Really?
And why does Washington have to protect me from myself? Am I going to do harm to myself if I have an electronic copy of my own X-ray?
No wonder America's medical bill is twice that of all other developed countries. Washington has created a nightmare of regulations, which don't help me a bit but apparently garner a few votes for some politicians somewhere. I am disgusted.
[Update July 13, 2015]
A billing nightmare. Yes, they billed me for both visits. Plus they billed me something like $95 for the cheap piece of plastic they put on top of my wrist and underneath an ace bandage.
Of course I protested, they said, "If you saw a Dr, we bill you for it."
And, "We don't negotiate prices."
Well - I do.
They sent it to a collection agency. I patiently put the entire story down in writing and sent a copy to Mercy, the Dr., and the collection agency.
They appear to have eliminated the second billing for the office visit. They don't want to budge on the $95 piece of plastic. Well, I don't want to budge either.
So they sent it to a second collection agency (possibly because the first one told them to go away and grow up?).
I'll try to keep you informed.

Your website shows your Saturday hours as 8am=8pm. I have called your phone number multiple times today to ask about coming in for xrays. The person answering the phone has a scratchy phone connection and as a result, difficulty hearing both my husband and I, as we tried calling her from both of our cell phones.
1.She says she does not know if you do xrays.
2. She says you are not open yet? It is now 8:52am.
3. She says you will take phone calls when you open for patients but she does not know when that will be
4. She does not know when we should call back.
Hmmmm.....not very helpful when the patient needs instant care and you opened an hour ago ?!

I took my daughter in on New Years Day as her pediatrics wasn't open and Unity Point had already closed. She had been around family with strep and was complaining of a soar throat. All the workers were friendly and the initial strep test was negative. I was told by Dr. Kristen Barnette that I would get a call regarding the 24 hour strep test whether it was positive or negative. I never received a call so I just assumed it was negative. Finally, today January 6th they called and said her 24 hour test came back positive and she needed to be on antibiotics. They are open 7 days a week and just called me 5 days later. Strep is a serious issue and this same thing happened to my sister and it led to a form of kidney disease. Something needs to be done so this doesn't happen to anyone else!
