I was recently given a birthday gift of a haircut and highlights at Rickborn Salon & Day Spa. I had never been in before and had no idea what to expect. I have to say I was wowed by Candace Rickborn!!!!! She was completely attentive to detail, whipped up some stunning highlights, added protein and gloss, and gave me the best experience I have ever had with getting a haircut and highlights. She went above and beyond to make me feel and look beautiful. Candace herself is just such a treat and pleasure, it would be worth it just to go in and talk to her!! Please do yourself a huge favor and let her do your hair! It has been several weeks and the color is AMAZING still; people have not stopped giving me compliments. Really, really, really, really happy with her excellent service and expertise. Thank you, Candace.

One of the hardest things for me to find was a new salon after I moved. My visit to Rickborn was exactly why I was hesitant to try a new salon. I had a lip wax and trim with Candace. She did the lip wax first and then sat me at the sinks to wash my hair. As I'm sitting there she starts applying something to my upper lip (I assumed it was a lotion or salve for after waxing.) After she had applied it, she said she had put on someone's makeup she had found in the cabinet--it was a strangers used makeup applied to my open pores after waxing. Ugh. Then on to the cut--I have very long hair and just wanted a trim. Candace recommended I take an inch off. I asked if my hair was damaged and that I was hoping for half an inch and she said it wasn't damaged so we compromised at 3/4". I took off my glasses for the trim and when I put them back on the pieces of hair around the chair were all well over 2.5" long. I was so upset to the point I couldn't even say anything and exited as quickly as I could as I was on the verge of tears. On top of taking way more off of my hair than planned, I got home to realize that my hair was cut very uneven (front pieces framing my face were much longer than the rest of my hair). I will definitely not be returning. However, the salon seemed nicely decorated and it seemed like the other stylists had very happy customers, I am posting my rating solely based upon my experience.
