Great service and great food. We had the gnocchi stuffed with cheese and the salmon...excellent! They had a beautiful anniversary card ready for us-so touching! Only complaint, bread should be warm, hot out of oven.

Don't get the lasagna - tastes like nothing and too much cheese (I've never been able to say this about food before!) Blah.
Do get the Linguine Nere - it's spicy, it's rich but in a small enough portion that you don't feel overfed, it's tangy, it's damned satisfying
Drinks were okay for being in the city - I've had worse and better
Service was decent for the circumstances - there was a private event that took up half the upstairs space and a majority of the waitstaff and it was busy otherwise, so we waited for about 20 minutes for someone to come take our order. They did take the lasagna off our bill when we expressed our displeasure without hesitation and everyone was nice.
Atmosphere was typical of a downtown restaurant - a bit cramped with small tables, though the seats were nice.
All in all I'd return - no lasagna next time tho.

I took my girlfriend here last night for our three year anniversary. We were greeted by the hostess with a happy anniversary which was really nice. The food was excellent. We had a few drinks and they were great! I would definitely come back again.

First time visiting 312 Chicago and couldn't have been happier. My wife and I were going to a musical at Cadillac Theater and wanted something nearby. Can't get much closer than 312. I had the linguine nere and my wife had the gnocchi. Both dishes were delicious! Wait staff was outstanding as well. Would definitely recommend for any special occasion or just a night out!

For dinner, I asked for a quiet spot and upstairs and they gave me right next to the kitchen! Why couldn't they open upstairs! The table was too high and impossible to move, so I couldn't use my phone on my lap or on the table. The portion size and what was included with the salmon were pitiful. This is not a two $ restaurant! The menu didn't match what they had online. The salesman, I mean waiter didn't speak English and patronized me when I ask him to repeat.
I had lunch here a year ago and it was great. Got to sit in the quiet upstairs.
