After living in Miami for 10 years I have grown fond of Cuban food. It is NOT supposed to be fine dinning. Cuban food is best served through a window in a white paper bag. Tropicuba gets it right. The croquetas are exactly like they're supposed to be and the ropa vieja is amazing.

AMAZING!!!! Plain and simple. A must try. Staff is friendly, prices are great. No complaints. Definitely coming back. Ordered a lechón sandwich with rice and beans, empanadas (chicken/guava with cheese), pork tamale, Cuban sandwich with arroz con gandules and two sodas all for about $30.

Dropped by just to grab some lechón(cubana roasted pork) for sandwiches. I asked for a taste and they gave a plate full to try. It was flavorful, moist and delicious. While I waited I asked for a Cuban coffee. Fantastic. I figured while I was here I should try the yucca. Same thing, they gave me a full plate of yucca bathed in mojo. Do I even have to say that it was delicious as well? Well it was. I ended up getting some of the yucca to go also. I spoke to the owner who was kind and helpful. Everything here is made fresh daily, including the lechón. Definitely will be coming back and telling my friends

Don't understand the complains about customers service, ( the 1 star reviews seems to be only single reviews, little fishy.) our waitress was super friendly and helpful.
The food here seems better than 90 Miles Cuban cafe, more authentic, catered less to the hipster crowd and costs less. The decor is old school and that's part of the charm, it's not trying to be hip.
The dishes presentation are less fancy but the taste is more subtle and flavorful. The roasted pork plate was near perfection, tasty crispy skin without being chewy, even the white meat was tender and juicy. The rice, beans and plantain all works so well together. We also had the he ribeye sandwich, it was tasty but the meat could be a little thinner or cut up smaller to bite sized portions.
Can't wait to come back and try other dishes.
