What to do with out-of-town guests that are looking for more than the usual sites? Get out on the lake!
After researching and calling around, I went with Offshore Boat Charters as they were by far the most accommodating and booking was a breeze.
We took full advantage of their BYOB policy and in hindsight, I wish we would have brought food for the grill they have on board (they also have a sound system which you can hook into).
My friends were extremely impressed with the views the boat offered (as was I, even as a long time resident). We ended up cruising along the river too (which has equally exciting views of the city) since the lake was chilly this early in the year.
Offshore's staff was both friendly and knowledgeable and the boat was spacious and well kept (bathrooms were spotless, which is always crucial). The price was beyond a deal for the experience--I'm already planning an outing this summer to take advantage of the extras they have (free kayak and paddle board)!
The charter ended up being the highlight of the trip! THANKS, Offshore!

We chartered with friends for a trip through the Chicago Harbor Locks and down the Chicago River. It was a little cool that day but, the scenery was fantastic! In all honesty with the sun shining on us it wasn’t all that cold. Plus, this is a BYOB boat so we warmed up quite nice. The Captain and crew ran one smooth show. I even got to get my hands a little dirty which added to the experience! Who knows maybe I can be a part of the crew? From the dock to the harbor lock gives you one heck of a view of the Chicago skyline. This is simply one of the best routes to take fantastic pictures of all of the architecture the City of Chicago has to offer. The boat was clean and spacious. There was more than enough room for all of us on board. I can’t wait for a hot summer day to do this again!

Chartered with friends for a fun outing on the river and could not have had a better experience! Boat was clean, Captain and Crew were friendly and professional, and BYOB was a bonus. I would definitely charter again whenever friends or family are in town - best views of the city with none of the tourist traps. Highly recommended!

Chartered for a company outing. Boat was very clean and well maintained. Crew were extremely professional and friendly. We were out on a windy day, Captain suggested we spend our time on the Chicago River where it was much less windy. I am happy we went this route, we were able to enjoy the entire afternoon in the sunshine with amazing scenery. I would highly recommend Offshore Boat Charters, I really can't emphasize enough how pleased everyone was with the overall experience.
