The staff are friendly, quick on orders and menu comes in English and Chinese. The prices, pocket friendly and you get plenty to eat. Great place for a date on a budget.

This rice is nasty and mushy you should not recommend this place unless you like nasty Chinese food and they will keep messing up your order there is no money back

The most strange Chinese food that I have ever seen. Not Chinese traditional style or American style, and other services could be ignored. Whatever, it very close to university of Cincinnati, it took few minutes to walk to.

I seldom post negative reviews. This is because I will not give out a bad review unless it is absolutely necessary. Red Pepper of Cincinnati has earned itself a 1-star review today. The first thing to notice was that the seats were ripped and sticky and covered in crumbs, every single one of them. I am at home now doing laundry to get the stains out of my shorts from the filthy booth we sat in. The table had a film on it. I looked up and saw a bottle of Lysol a few tables down, which shed light on the reason behind the film. The next thing I noticed was the "Waiter" sitting a few tables away watching a TV show on his phone. He should have been cleaning the seats of the booths and tabletops, with something other than Lysol. The hostess sat us down and took our order, yet he did not write anything down. Then, the "Waiter" brought out our food and I told him that my girlfriend ordered white rice with her sweet and sour chicken not fried rice. He continued to go get the receipt from somewhere and came back saying that fried rice was on the receipt. I told the "Waiter" that he was not the one who took our order, and that the person who did take our order did not even write anything down. He continued to just stare at us, didn't offer a solution, and after some silence, walked away. The hostess was watching a TV show on his phone as well when we left. Nobody thanked us for coming in, and we were the only ones dining there... My girlfriend has ordered white rice with her sweet and sour chicken for her entire existence. Red Pepper, I urge you to clean up your act and your restaurant in general. (1)Write down orders if you cannot remember them. (2)Do not argue with your customers. (3)Try to say "You're welcome" when someone says thank you. (4)Try to smile.. and (5)Try to clean your dining area instead of watching anime on your phone.

I went to this Chinese restaurant for lunch (11:45am). Indeed, it reminded me of a restaurant in China. I lived there for 6 years. I walked in and it was very dark - no lights turned on. No customers. I saw a girl sitting at a table in the back, so I asked her if she worked there. She was busy playing on her phone so she didn't notice me come in; I startled her. They don't greet guests. She said "yea, I work here". I asked are you open? She said yes. I asked why is it so dark in here? She said the owner keeps it like that. I said that's bizarre. She then told me to sit wherever I want. I started to take a seat at a booth but the seat was ripped with large pieces missing. I looked at another table; same problem, then another. I found all of the booths/tables were ripped to pieces. At that time a man came out from the kitchen and I said all of your booths are ripped. He said, yes, I can't find anyone to replace them. I thought to myself what a bogus excuse. They're trying to save money. A Chinese trait. I asked are you the owner. He said "I am manager". I said no wonder there are no customers here. Look at this place - dark, ragged...I'm afraid to eat here! Both the girl sitting at the table and the manager just continued to play on their phones without concern or interest in hearing anything I had to say. Needless to say, I walked out without eating anything. I had eaten here often from 2000 until 2005 but it's different owners now. They've Chinesed the place so badly and it's obvious in the condition, hygiene and service of the restaurant. You can tell they're trying to cut corners to save money. I dare not eat here now. I know how Chinese are about quality - they don't care! Everything is about money! The New Red Pepper is nothing more than an old rotten pepper now because the owner(s) don't give a damn about food or service. It's all about the Benjamins. PS. They've had the same tacky signs on doors and windows since 2000. This place needs a health and hygiene inspection.
