Absolutely THE BEST experience with a dentist! The staff are always very nice and warm to their patients and made me feel very comfortable throughout everything. Getting my teeth cleaned was not painful a bit and they did an amazing job! I also did Invisalign with them and they made it so easy. They were extremely fair with me and accommodated my every need! They really go above and beyond for their patients, and only recommend what's necessary. I could not have been happier with everything that they did. Dr. Elfers is BY FAR THE BEST DENTIST in Cincinnati. I would drive from Tennessee to see her if I had to! :)

BE CAREFUL! This practice is extremely dishonest and unprofessional. I'm so disappointed in the way I was treated as a patient there. I was new to the area and came in for a routine cleaning. During my exam, I noticed I had some sensitivity near my gum line. Dr. Elfers recommended a filling in that area to patch the exposed root, which I was fine with. She said that if I was coming in for one filling, I might as well have a few others done in some deep grooves I had in other teeth as a preventative measure. I was worried about this, as I was unsure if I could afford the cost. Her billing department said they ran my insurance and that my insurance would cover the entire cost of the procedures, and I would only be responsible for paying $25 out of pocket. I trusted her front office staff, and scheduled an appointment the fillings for a few weeks later. Months after my appointment, I am slammed with a dental bill for $380, when I was told it would only cost $25!! I would have never agreed to have all of this work done if I knew it was going to cost that amount! When I called to discuss this with them they said that they can't predict what the insurance will pay and that I would be responsible for the balance.
I'm unsure why they initially told me that my insurance would cover the cost except for the $25 copay and they are now telling me they can't predict what the insurance will cover. Something doesn't add up. Her front office admitted to me that someone must have made a mistake when they initially gave me the quote, but are unwilling to own up to their mistake rectify the situation.
Moral of the story: get EVERY billing quote in writing BEFORE you have work done with this office, or better yet go elsewhere. I see from previous reviews that I am not the only person who has had an issue like this with this office. With the large amount of dental practices Hyde Park has to offer, I don't understand how they can get away with treating their patients in this way.

I had been going to Dr Elfers for several years and I absolutely love the practice. However I know I was given incorrect information regarding my insurance on my last visit. My job is in medical billing so I am well aware of in and out of network benefits and I verified with the office twice to make sure they were in network. I scheduled my appointment and ended up with a bill well over $1000.00. When I called the office the person I talked to stated "No they were not in my Network" . I was furious because I understand the importance of going to a network provider and I previously called and talked to the front office person twice! I asked if they would take a self pay discount or make some sort of adjustment. They refused to make any adjustments. I was able to sent up a monthly payment plan but certainly would not have had the work done there had I been told the correct information. I noticed other comments similar to this in the reviews. Perhaps there is a need to re-evaluate the training of the office staff.

Deceitful and unprofessional business practices. I was told several times that they were within my insurance network: when I was setting up appt, at my appt, and even when I received a bill for the balance after filing insurance. I called the insurance company, Dental CARE Plus, who informed me they were in the networks of every insurance group EXCEPT mine, the Balanced Value Network, a relatively new insurance group plan. I was quick to accept this was a misunderstanding and asked if the office would consider to write off just half of my remaining balance considering it was negligence on their part as well as mine. The office would not write off ANY of my 150 dollar balance and I was stuck paying the balance that I fully expected to not have. Ridiculous, a business shown own up to its own mistakes, especiallly if made repeatedly. Would not recommend to anyone.

I returned to Cincinnati several years ago after living in Las Vegas for a number of years. I thought I would find a new dentist. Dr. Elfers was highly recommended so I thought I would giver her a try. After several years of bi annual visits I have found out why she was so highly recommended. Absolutely the Best dental experience possible. You never wait, her staff is highly trained and Dr. Elfers is the ultimate professional. Plus, she saved me thousands of dollars by disagreeing with another Dentist evaluation and recommended dental work. By having the most modern equipment and keeping up with the most advance care procedures, Dr. Elfers corrected my problem with a simple painless procedure.
