I frequent 4th St establishments regularly before events and my meal at Pickwick & Frolic is easily the worst I have experienced. We had an early reservation and when we were seated it was not very busy, but we did sit outside and this seemed to delay service quite a bit. Our server was rarely to be seen. After long waits to both order and receive, the food was barely tolerable. The "roasted" beet salad, was canned beets tossed heavily in dressing. All of our food came out cold, the broccoli was under cooked, the chicken was decent, and the mashed potatoes had hardened on the top by the time the plate got to the table and about half-way through, I found a hair in them. Not a great showing for a place that has, for the most part, received good reviews.

Headliner was very good. Warmup acts not so much. Food and drinks very good.

Really excellent service by Amber and the food was very delicious. I had a Filet Sandwich Med. Rare... total perfection, melt in my mouth! We also had Prime Rib and Walleye, all fabulous choices.
We made early reservations and went to a comedy show at Frolic Cabernet, so much fun!
Parking can be ridiculous, although we had no problems on a Sunday evening.
Please note, we ate before the show but you can order dinner at the show also.

Very nice place. Great atmosphere. Haven't eaten in the restaurant yet but have in the comedy club and the food is really good. I believe it's serves out of the same kitchen

First timer. My wife and I dine out a lot and are tough to satisfy. This was a rare combination of excellent service and great food. We often worry that upscale restaurants will serve slowly to keep customers in the seats, but they (James) hustled. Potatoes from scratch with wonderful flavor that didn't need fixing up at the table. Prime rib cooked as I asked with good seasoning. Only bummer is lobster bisque had very little lobster and was a bit pasty. That being said, this is definitely on our list for a return visit.
