Searched "Pierogi Cleveland" in google and this place came up with a 5 out of 5 review. Looking back now I see they literally have only TWO reviews and that's how they kept the 5 out of 5.
On Yelp they're between 2 and 3 out of 5.
The website will say, "Our pierogis are very large.."
I called the number on the website for pricing. The man that answered said they were $10 for a dozen. I asked about how "large" they are and compared them to the Mrs. T's brand. He said they are about three of those.
Great deal right? I mean a locally bought homemade pierogi that's 3x the size of the national brand.. sign me up!
I went to the Westside Market today just so I could buy them. Once I found their store I was shocked to see bags of frozen pierogis that were just about the same size as the Mrs. T's brand. I have attached a photo of them side by side.
Ok so they really over exaggerated the size.. they must taste just like grandma's right?
Nope! So not only are they the same size as the commercial brand, about 5x the cost as the commercial brand, they don't even taste as good as the commercial brand. Total waste of my $10.
Don't let my Sicilian last name fool you. I grew up making all kinds of food including pierogies (grandma was Ukrainian). Before you buy in to the two reviews on here take a look at Yelp. Instead of $10 for 12 average size but below average tasting pierogies buy yourself five or six boxes of Mrs. T's (or even the Giant Eagle brand).

Their pierogi are best! Even make custom orders for you if you tell them a week in advance. It's a little hard to find in West Side Market. Super buttery though.
