I went to the Tonic Salon to get partial highlights and expected to pay about $75, which was the starting price on their website. The Tonic staff knew that it was my first time there, yet no one bothered to tell me that the price fluctuated quite a bit based on the stylists' experience. When I went to check out, the bill was for $105 -- $30 more than what I had expected to pay! When I asked about the price hike, they said it was because my stylist was more experienced. So, I asked if anyone there does highlights for the listed $75 price, and they said no. The cheapest you can get highlights there is $100. I left feeling like I had been misled and taken advantage of. The website says you will get a "one on one consultation with your stylist." I guess their consultations don't include telling customers the real price of things. I won't be going back.
