Mi Cocina is hands-down my favorite Mexican food place in Dallas. The one in Lakewood has a fantastic patio that seems to have some shade even on the hottest days and it's dog friendly. the food is always great and the wait staff knowledgeable and friendly.

Great bartender, friendly service, and comfortable atmosphere.
I used to work for this company, and it was definitely up to par with my skill as a server. Keep doing what you're doing, buds.

We had a party of about 25 people and Eric went above and beyond with setting up or reservation to making a custom menu. Jorge was our server for the night and even though he worked our table alone he was always making sure we had full drinks and what ever else anyone asked for. Patio sitting was great.

So... good happy hour wine and appetizers... yummy as usual. Love the new patio, but a small subset of parents let their kids run wild around the patio - even using nearby banquettes as trampolines and running winding circles between the tables (kids the same age watched the rowdies from their seats, looking a bit surprised). The hostess didn't seem to know how to handle multiple complaints from other diners about it. A related issue is that those same rowdy kids tend to feed chips to the birds, so the birds get kind of out of control, too. The manager gave us a free dessert for our trouble, which was Zero help. We will find someplace else for a while - we like the new Heights in Lakewood - and try Mi Cocina again after a couple of months to see if things are improved.
