Everything on the menu is delicious! The portions are healthy and the peach cobbler and banana pudding are my favorite desserts. Always a clean and friendly place to sit and eat. Friendly staff who treat you like family. Love this place!!!

I know good ribs and bbq for sure! 😆Smokey johns is an average facility tucked away in a shopping center can be considered a rough area. However their smoked meats are pretty good brisket was a bit tough on this visit the ribs were cooked well and had great flavor I just wish they wouldn't cut them....The staff seems like a great group. Comparing this with other bbq joints in the metro I'd have to give it 3 stars. I look at the overall quality of the side dishes, meats and service

Not the highest quality, but still pretty good. Smoked turkey breast... OMG! Moist, juicy, flavorful... yum! Creamy and delicious Mac and cheese, delicious fresh salad, and yummy sweet tea. Service from the older lady behind the register was meh, she seemed a bit grouchy, but I love that the owner came out to check on us, and make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Only thing I really don't like is they are ALWAYS sold out of fried chicken and wings when we get there... must mean they're really good. One day I hope to try them both. We'll be back!

Best BBQ I've ever had. Meat is super tender and flavorful. Sides are excellent. Even the catfish is good. I just wish they would serve later. Highly recommend. 9.5/10

Let me tell you, Smokey John makes some damn good BBQ with some pretty delicious side dishes as well!
The folks here are incredibly hospitable, I asked for a recommendation on what I needed to try as a first-timer from out of town, and soon enough I was sampling all the delicious meats, which didn't help because sure enough I wanted everything!
I had to go with the Big Smoke plate with Ribs, Brisket, Sausage, and Ham (don't sleep on the ham, people often overlook the ham as a BBQ meat, but I'm telling you, give ham a chance). All of them delicious, my favorite were the fall-off-the-bone ribs. For my sides I got the Cabbage and the Mac and Cheese, which looks great and tastes even better!
Smokey John's high Yelp rating is well deserved, the food and the folks here are total 5-stars!
