Atmosphere is amazing and the beer is good. If just rating the food I would give a 2.5. Extremely average.

Really great experience in a beautiful setting. Try the flight of house-brewed ale with a pretzel braid and beer cheese!

Arrived at 6:30 On a Saturday they were busy but even so the service, drinks and food were all very good it was our fisrt time there and we will definitely be back soon! Atmosphere was cool and they have patio seating as well.

Are you ready to step into Dayton in the 1850's? If your answer is yes, then this is the the place: period costumes, food and yes... period beer. Carillon is first and foremost a living museum. When it opened and for the first year and a half, all of the beers had a sour undertone, typical of 1850's brews. They have introduced a couple of beers without the sour undertones that still mimics period flavors. They also offer a diverse menu of modern beers, and for the non-adventurous, bud and bud light. The typical German food is delicious and the building is a gorgeous post and beam building. You can watch the brewing process as you dine or enjoy the outdoor beer garden during good weather.
