Food here is always impressive, excellent vegetarian and vegan offering. Had hand made pappardelle noodles with pesto and garlic and a potato leek soup- heaven! Can call ahead but no reservations for small tables. Sat out in enclosed patio and overhead heater was too hot. Wait staff efficient, friendly, attentive. Prices moderate.

Delicious. Plan to wait but totally worth the wait. Local favorite. Great to bring your friends and make new ones. A must try in Dayton.

Pulling up, I noticed an inviting and very nicely designed building. From the parking lot you can see the fires going in the enclosed patio area. We were greeted promptly and shown to our seats. Our waitress was fantastic. She chatted with us and was very knowledgeable about the food on the menu.
I was very impressed with the pizza options here. You could pick plain cheese, but I'd go for something a little more unique. We got Rooster in the Garden and it was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The pizza crust was a great balance of crispy and chewy.
Another thing that I appreciated about Wheat Penny was the versatile menu. There were plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free choices. EVERYTHING seems to be made in house, from their chicken sausage, to their ricotta cheese, and even their red pepper flakes!
The prices are a bit higher than some other pizza places, but you absolutely get what you pay for here. It was a great lunch experience. The only downside is that I don't live in Dayton, and won't be able to come back soon!

The pizza is amazing and the crust tastes like a toasted sour dough bread! It was recommended to me by a local in home chef. Did not disappoint

I just found this place out couple of weeks ago, and this is already my second time coming in with my husband. This time around we brought friends with us to let them taste it. The pizza is so amazing. We really love it.
