We stayed here for Biketoberfest. It was a very nice place, we had no problems with anything. The room was out dated, but clean and had no problems. I am a travel agent and would stay there again. Everyone was every nice and helped out. The manager Andrew was great!

Pros: view from balcony (if you get the right room), kitchen sink, balcony, large bed, couch, coffee table and most importantly, allow dogs.
Cons: No free breakfast, bugs, old room, no a/c, homeless people and druggies hanging out in parking lot next door, the side doors don't lock anymore so anyone can just walk in.
View and balcony were nice. The staff is young and helpful. They seem like they care about customer service. Breakfast buffet was cold at 8am, they replaced it with fresh hot food immediately. Took forever to get checked in, they must have been busier than usual. The rooms need some real TLC and upgrading. The a/c doesn't cool the room at all, we left balcony door open most of the time as it was keeping the room cooler than the a/c. Half the outlets didnt work and didnt even want to touch the phone. Because of the wait to get a room I didn't want to bother trying to get another. We heard from other guests they had bugs in their rooms, we didn't see any in ours, however, I did see one at the breakfast table (see photo). Nice place if you're here for the races or Senior break. However, for a romantic anniversary, a hard no.

NEVER AGAIN !!!!! As a matter of fact, I won't ever go to Daytona again due to my experience here. The staff is extremely hostel!!!!! I truly believe that no one there has a degree in hospitality. The rooms were dirty and the chrome finishing were all rusted Everywhere I turned guest where complaining and the staff ignored them and acted like this was normal.
After waiting and asking over 24 hours for washcloths, I finally went down to the front desk and spoke with a man who posed as the front desk manager. He promised they would be delivered shortly. Needless to say, I never did see a washcloth my entire stay.
The following morning, I woke up to find silly string all over my car. I then spoke with Andrew, the "real" front desk manager. He had the most uncaring , detached disposition. When I showed him my car, he asked what was he supposed to do about it? When i stated that I was here on vacation to relax and should feel safe, he let know the the cameras don't even work. Wish I would have known that when I trusted to park under them. He even told me that they are tearing Ocean Breeze down next year. If that is even true it would explain their poor attitude.
My final straw was when the 'maintenance manager, who was also the front desk manager I spoke of before, physically lunged at me on day two. Why? Because I was still asking for washcloths. I decided to check out and go home early.
Daytona was always one of my favorite vacation spots; but, I will find another place to relax after this experience. Florida has thousands of vacation spots that know how to pamper their paying guest. Dirty, Hostel and Unsafe is unacceptable for me.

First of all we all know the Elevators are rickety & hot I ended up taking the stairs more (10 flights) instead of being crammed in. I was recently here over the Fourth of July week with family that vacation every year here, never had a serious issue until the hired a "Pro Security " guard. Who was an imaginary high horse Dictating things that did not pertain to her ! She made my husband move out of a spot because it was a "bike spot" for The remainder there was always a different car parked there. So we parked in the overflow lot cross street. Which is no big deal if Parking sucks. But when this top flight security guard just a Prude of a woman. The magnitude of this woman's ego was ridiculous. we literally watched her tow a families car with they're wallets and information who were from out of state just trying to go to Disney simply because the parking pass was just a rendition And signed copy from the clerk. Then wanted to stance like she was alpha dog & shake her head to a crying 8 year old who's dreams were just crushed. I wouldn't even write a complaint but the fact that she knocks on the door at 2 am To say I smell of marijuana and trying to protrude her big nose in the room and try to threaten me with the law for no reason. She needs a strong dose of reality.

I would give the staff a 5* review. It featured an awesome pool and ocean access. However, the other amenities left much to be desired. My $$$ upgraded ocean front balcony with a king size bed left much to be desired. I checked in at 1:30 PM because the reservation clerk said it should be ready by 1 PM. Then I was informed it should be ready by 4 PM because of issues with the doors but it was 5 PM. I finally get in my room and their was NO RUNNING WATER! The excuse this time was someone broke the water line for the ice machine. The new plumbing needed to dry so now the water should be ready in 30 minutes. I went upstairs again at 5:30 yes there was water. If it had not been rush hour I would have cancelled and gone elsewhere.
After a relaxing evening on the beach and dinner in the restaurant I adjourned to my room so I could get up in time to enjoy my coffee on my ocean front balcony to watch the sun rise. The faucet that was dripping when I left to go to dinner was still dripping so I put a face cloth in the sink to absorb the noise. Around 3:30 I went to facilitate. Upon turning on the light I was greeted by cockroaches. I was able to catch and kill 3 which I tossed in the waste basket. I went back to bed once again looking forward to my coffee and sunrise.
The first step out of the kitchenette I stepped barefoot in a sticky mess that looked like cola. I had to go back inside and wash my feet so I missed the sunrise. Even more frustrated I dressed and left the hotel to find breakfast and calm down before talking to the manager. The hostess explained he should be in by 9:30. I gave her a list of these issues.
When I returned the manager was available. I reviewed the issues. He offered to comp me a breakfast for my inconvenience. Then I reminded I paid the upgrade fee for the ocean front room so he knocked that $50 fee off leaving me still a $141 bill.
I discovered the owner purchased the hotel with plans to demo and rebuild in the fall. In the interim they were $$$$ guests and doing band-aid repairs.
As I stated earlier the only saving grace was the staff.
