Terrible service! Asked for a nurse and is still to this point not attending us and its been over 2 hours now and im typing this as im waiting. A freddy crueger looking ass nurse had an attitude when after one hour of waiting we asked to see if the nurse would be with us soon. Definitely would not recommend this hospital at all.

Other than the maternity ward, which I cannot speak highly enough about, there is not another area of this H worth spending your hard earned money in. The ER being the worst! I have yet to meet a Dr that has ANY KIND of bed side manner! I WILL NOT be back. Every single time I have been I left mad because the Drs are arrogant, judgemental, condescending jack asses. Go to FtW or Denton.

Passed through Decatur on a vacation, and had to stop at the Wise Family Urgent Care across the street. I was having trouble breathing and needed to be seen. After two hours to get my doctor visit done there and a blood test I got a call to hit the ER. Left the hotel and went to this hospital ER. I was moved in and they immediately got my information and had me prepared for testing. They started within half an hour on breathing treatments and some more testing. The doctor found out quickly that I had an aggressive pneumonia. Due to my travels however I was at risk for blood clotting in the lungs so I was checked additionally and thoroughly using a CT scan and ultrasound things that I'm not entirely knowledgeable about. I was put on an IV to get fluids up, given a fever reducer, and they began on an antibiotic by the second hour in the ER. I was then tested to see if I was able to keep my oxygen levels up. When it was determined no, they kept me overnight. The entire staff was extremely helpful, nice, and knowledgable. The doctor was quite stern that I stay in her care, and while I don't like being a hostage I know that she had my best interests in mind. Never once did I feel like I wasnt cared for. The overnight stay was minimally invasive. I didn't try the food.

Horrible E.R. experience. I went in for a severe headache that made it difficult to move or talk without pain (tension headache). Minimal questions in triage. Date of birth, height, weight, allergies, and preexisting conditions. That was it. Didn't ask if I had taken anything for it yet. Didn't ask about any chance of pregnancy (no) or when my last menstrual cycle was. Nothing relevant. Very rude to me, cutting me off when I was trying to talk to them. They prescribed ibuprofen (which I had already taken to no effect) and a very mild muscle relaxer. One of the worst experiences I've had with a hospital before. Anybody seeking medical attention should take the extra 45 minutes and drive to fort worth if they want to be taken seriously.

Check-in was fast and easy, only 2 signatures and a few initials. We hadn't finished the abbreviated paperwork before my wife was called in for examination. *All* the staff: doctor, nurses, helpers and administrative folks were sympathetic and quick to respond to her needs. Charles was especially attentive and helpful, engaging my wife to discuss her pain (and several other conditions I won't go into here). Thank you Charles. Oh, check-out was very quick, too.
