In 23 years of dealing with insurance companies, I have never had a more enjoyable experience than I have with Carmelita Jaramillo of James Lundin's Farmers Insurance agency. Carmelita should give clinics on the art of customer service...she epitomizes the skills of listening, empathy, and promptness. She is simply a consummate professional at all times.

I had motorcycle and renters insurance with this agent for over three years. I was interested in buying an automobile and called for a quote and received one in a timely manner and bought the car but when I arrived at the office to sign the paperwork the insurance policy had tripled.

I sat in James' office while he explained how Colorado has some of the most expensive insurance and how his assistant made a mistake or didn't have enough information and I watched as he clicked and unclicked boxes trying to get the policy to an agreeable amount.

I explained to him that I wouldn't have even bought the car if I had thought the insurance would cost as much as it did. As a neighborhood resident without access to private parking spots and a need to have the car licensed, I was forced to pay the trumped up policy and a few weeks later I got a policy cancellation from their corporate offices, James had submitted information to the company that was below their minimum required and he, nor anyone in his office bothered to call me to prepare my for the cancellation. When I took them the paperwork inquiring about the cancellation no one with knowledge of my situation was available to speak to me and no one called me back for days. I did get an apologetic sounding phone call at last from the person who had initially handled the request and I have no hard feelings.

I ended up getting insurance through another company but when my renters and motorcycle policies expired I received a phone call asking why I had switched to the other company, I sincerely believe they meant no harm but mishandled the situation so badly that I couldn't recommend them to anyone I know.

I am updating this a year later. I really wish they had handled this better and it's a shame to think that someone who you did business doesn't think enough of you or your business to do the right things. I went from having a local agent around the corner from my apartment who I felt I had a connection with to some huge multinational company who I deal with only through and app. I didn't minded paying a little extra but I thought I was paying for something.

I have been a client with James Lundin's office at Farmers for years. They have been so very helpful with all my past claims and questions about new policies and so much more. Carmelita is one of the best parts of this office...always friendly, always knowledgable and willing to go the extra mile every time I call. As a Realtor they receive all my referrals because I know they will take the same great care with my clients that they do with me. If you want advocates for your family in the insurance business give them a call!
