If only their cooked meat as well as they marketed, then this franchise from Alabama might actually add something to the local food scene. As it stands, it is nothing but an overpriced, poor example of Alabama bar-b-que.

A lot of nit picky reviews here. I've personally never had a better Jim N Nicks experience and I'm from Birmingham, where it originated. Service was fast and the waitress was more than attentive to all of our needs. From appetizers to dessert, the food was hands down better than any food I've eaten in this state since moving here almost a year ago. I will certainly be returning, probably even tonight.

"To Go" is not the way to go here!
We have been going to Jim and Nicks since it first opened in Stapleton and tonight was the first time we were ever super disappointed. It was our first time ordering food to go, and we would never do it again.
I ordered the turkey plate with mashed potatoes and a salad. The salad was awful- it was fully of mealy brown lettuce and I just feel like a product like that would have never been served if we were dining in. The lettuce was also very warm. I know it was to go, but we live less than 15 minutes away, so there is no way the lettuce just happened to go bad that quickly- if I had to guess the lettuce had been sitting out for some time. My salad also had 1 tomato- literally 1, which seemed really skimpy. My meal was missing the mashed potatoes completely. I also order a peach tea, and received a plain tea (which tasted fine, just not what I asked for). I have attached a picture of some of the lettuce I pulled out of the salad, but the whole thing looked really sad.
My husband ordered the Pig in the Garden. His salad was also really mealy. He ate the meat and threw almost all the lettuce away. It was a huge let down.
The reason for the 3 stars? The meat was still very good, and the iced tea was very refreshing even it wasn't what I ordered. I would say this experience alone would be 1-2 stars, but since they are usually better than this I was generous with 3.
While the order was being picked up the wings were also dropped. They got us new ones, but just one more thing that went wrong tonight.

Wasn’t sure what to think of this place as the outside doesn’t indicate much about it. But we were hungry and it was right there so we gave it a shot. Liked the decor and vibe of the restaurant. Seating was open and comfortable. Options were plentiful with lots of emphasis on BBQ and sandwiches. I tried the Turkey Sandwich and the Cubano. Both were good but very different. Service was pretty good too even during a busy hour. Will be trying again at some point.

This was my first time here and wow, am I impressed! Im all for good comfort food but the service here is outstanding. We arrived at 10:40 when the restaurant opens at 11am. The manager let us come in anyway and got a sever to our table. Our server, Juan, was attentive and kind. He made sure our meals were up to par. The chicken was a little tender but other the that, the food was delicious. I definitely recommend to anyone who is in the area!
