A historic, cheap theater next to Drake University. There is literally only one theater, but they typically show films that aren't shown just about anywhere else in the city. Check it out!

A quaint little theater that reminds me of going to the movies as a kid. Takes cash only but there is a bank right down the street with a drive up ATM.

A great theater experience. Best prices in town, they show a lot of great films, and they use real butter on their popcorn. If you love film and the classic movie going experience you must go to the Varsity.

Varsity is the best way to see a movie. The pace is unhurried and familiar. You can still get a bag of popcorn for under 2 dollars. Also, you don't have to wade through a half hour of previews or commercials. Most of their showings are thoughtful and entertaining, sometimes with exclusive showing of movies you won't see anywhere else in DSM. 5 stars.
