Did everything but outright tell me I was faking my injury. Less than a month after he released me to full duty at work I was admitted to the hospital. They were considering emergency surgery. I have since been told by one doctor that he wouldn't feel comfortable operating on me because of the extensive damage to my back. I was referred to another surgeon. Now as I sit and write this I'm considering whether or not to go to the ER again because I have tell tale symptoms of a CSF leak. Thanks again Dr. Smith for releasingme back to work so I could ultimately further injure my back to the point where there's a very good chance I will be paralyzed.

This physiatrist should have his license revoked and not be allowed to ever work as a doctor again. I found him to be incompetent, ignorant and extremely condescending in his approach of my injuries as well as his behavior. To see him throw tantrums like a 3 year old was both shocking and very disturbing. To anyone who goes to see this doctor, beware, especially if it's worker's comp, and make sure to record every visit... He is far more concerned with the worker's comp party than the duty of care owed to an injured employee/patient...

Grew up with Dr. Smith, was about the lowest form of life you could imagine. The fact he landed in health care seems like turning the fox lose in the hen house. If he ended up like he started, best to steer clear.

I feel so blessed to have found Dr. Kurt Smith and Iowa Otho!! Dr. Smith has given me a new quality of life by using trigger point injections as part of my pain management care. Dr. Smith's table side manner is very professional and his listening skills are remarkable. Saying THANK YOU just doesn't seem enough!!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE person--- he is the rudest, coldest man i have had the displeasure of meeting EVER!! ... Smith, I don't know how you sleep at night or look your ugly mug in the mirror each day. My son has proven herniated discs by MRI. He treated my son so cruelly and so off handedly with NO CARE for his well being WHAT SO EVER!! My son has only gotten worse because he hasn't gotten the care he desperately needs. Iowa Ortho should be ashamed to have him in their facility. He is an embarrassment to the oath he took. NOT all people are faking injuries like you accuse them of! I was sick to my stomach after I left his office seeing how truly horrible he treated my son... I'm glad I was able to call him a jerk, -- I wanted to call him worse but I'm not lowering myself to his level.

If you are on Work comp and have to go to him-- You might as well save yourself some time. He won't give you the care you need and will only think you are lying.... A HUGE disappointment....
