Fine dining Mexican cuisine that is delicious, reasonably priced, and a cut above other Mexican restaurants in the area. There's no shortage of fast food restaurants along Ingersoll; Candela is not that. They serve carefully prepared Mexican dishes that are flavorful and that use the best ingredients. The mixed drinks are very good. The service is outstanding. The restaurant looks new and contemporary and I can tell the owners put a lot of pride in designing the layout of their restaurant. My only complaint is the tight parking and lack of parking spots on Ingersoll.

The service earned the 4th star, the food gets 3 stars. Our waiter was very attentive and kept things moving along.
The food is good, but not extraordinary when compared to other choices in the metro area. We were disappointed that they were out of red wine. If you like your Margaritas sweet, you'll be happy. If not, you can ask them to make yours more tart.
The décor is quite nice. Worth a visit.

This is the worst restaurant in Des Moines. The food makes Taco Bell and Taco Johns seem like luxury and gourmet. I'd rather eat at a taco stand with 3 day old breading and rotten lettuce than to ever taste this garbage again.
And the service? The owner has to be the most narcissistic and arrogant small business owner in the entire metropolitan area of Des Moines. I have never been treated with less respect and dignity in my life. Prisoners...people on death row deserve better customer service than this.
I wouldn't feed this man's garbage to pigs. Pigs are too good for this.

This has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in DSM, in fact, one of my top five favorite dining establishments in the city. The food is fantastic and presented in an exquisite way. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. I have been there so many times in the last month with guests from NYC, LA, and all over Iowa. Everyone raves about it. I have to visit at least once a week because there are still several more dishes I want to try.

Loved both our dinners here! Friendly service and very good food! Reasonable prices and cozy atmosphere. We will be back often! Hope they get the patio opened soon.
