The food is delicious !! 100% Real authentic Mexican food , food recipe is passed down from generations of the family , made fresh , inexpensive , family owned business . And the Tamales best in Iowa !

La Rosa is back open! I'm so glad. I was very sad to here about her husband, but I'm happy that she's back doing what she loves. I hope it helps her heal. Her tamales are the best in the city, no contest.

I love the food here! There are few places in Iowa that make gorditas and this is one of them. They take some time to arrive your table, because they are made from scratch, so don't be in a rush - or order ahead. Also, take home some homemade tamales from her freezer and microwave a couple for dinner at home when you feel like it - Yum!!! The green sauced, spicier chicken tamales are especially hard to find in Iowa. She'll do special order vegetarian and other tamales, too, with enough advance notice. Also catering - which we did once and was super!!
It's a little bit rundown, but the food and good prices make up for anything else!! Rosa is very friendly and helpful (if she's not too busy, which she often is), too.

Rauls is Rauls, high prices, mini sizes, and when they had the buffet and there were 14 people waiting for food they would bring out 4 taco's, therein lies the reason for their closing Not Taco Trucks.
