The bartenders said they were going to call my dad at bar close-- clearly they were joking, but that would've been awesome because my dad is fly. Great guys working behind the bar the weekend before Halloween!

Server's were very rude. Mixed drinks were 100% alcohol. Cramped and smelled horrible. Let this place die.

First time To Des Moines referred by a local. Awesome spot it your looking for a bit of a dive, but somewhat fancy :) this is the spot. Bartender Brent was awesome. Also, they offer a full menu from the restaurant upstairs and the food was awesome!

This happened a while ago so I'd be happy to change my review if the employee in question is no longer there, but I had a bad experience.
I was with a group of folks for a birthday party, and we were all trying to order drinks. It took probably 20 minutes for me to get a couple beers for my girlfriend and myself. After we finished our beers, the bartender wasn't even coming to our side of the bar. After another long wait, the bartender comes over and starts saying something about how tips support people in the service industry and she doesn't serve people who don't tip. I was confused because I had a tab open and was going to pay with a card. I ended up tipping her 20% or so because I thought she was having a bad day, but that was a stupid decision in retrospect.
As it turns out, some girls from the group I was with were paying with cash and weren't tipping well. As a result, the bartender decided to ignore the entire group. It's worth noting that I do not know the girls who weren't tipping well, and I was on the opposite side of the group from them at the bar. The fact that I had my own tab open should have been enough for her to treat me as an individual and not make any presumptions about how well I may tip, but she decided to lump me in with a bunch of people who I don't know, wasn't talking with, wasn't sitting next to, and for all she knew, just happened to enter the bar at the same time.
The bar itself seemed like a cool place to hang out, but unfortunately I don't remember the conversations I had or what game I was watching. I remember the worst bartender I've ever met. I do thank her for opening two beers and setting them in front of me, though. Definitely worth a 20% tip.
