The most overpriced, pretentious place in Des Moines BY FAR! The food looks terrible, the staff is is rude, misogynistic and homophobic. This is honestly the worst establishment I have ever been to in Des Moines. I wasn't even able to finish a glass of wine before getting up and leaving due to the behavior I witnessed by the staff. Truly despicable and they are lucky to still be open in my opinion.

UPDATE: went again, speedy service, still best burger on Des Moines. BEFORE Spent half an hour waiting for service, finally had bartender walk over and apologize would send server. Five minutes later, server arrives, no apology, order beer, get food menu. Eleven minutes later I am still waiting. My date and I decide to leave. Time in Star bar thirty minutes....no food no drink, no or poor service.Really not happy. Management needs a kick in the butt!

Try the Jambalaya. It's great. They also have a wonderful patio that offers a great view of Ingersoll. Good people watching here.

The onion ring appetizer is amazing! My favorite thing to order is the Asian salad with chicken. Wouldn't recommend the burger. Good beer/wine selection.
