My wife and I arrived at just before 8PM on 8/16/17 (a Monday evening). When we walked in, there was a total of 4 customers. Two at the bar, and two tucked in a booth in the corner. None of which were eating. We almost immediately ordered a couple cocktails and waters. Cocktails took 5ish minutes, and water didn't arrive. We placed our food order at this point. I ordered the hanger steak, and the wife ordered poutine. Shortly after, another couple came in and sat in the booth next to us. Not long after, they too ordered. About 30 minutes later it was clear that the couple next to us were close to finishing their food, and we had not yet received ours. After at least 40 (but I'm pretty certain closer to 45) minutes we finally received our food. In the menu it is clearly stated that the hanger steak is prepared medium/rare, which is great with me. However the steak I received was way beyond well-done. Also, the included side of Pomme Frites were soggy, with obvious hot and cold spots, as if they had been sitting for some time under a heating lamp. My wife was also disappointed with her food, as it had arrived undercooked, with clumps of unmelted cheese over it. The only good thing I have to say about this experience is that the drinks were respectable. Not great, but respectable. But ultimately, the service was repeatedly absent, and we sat for extended periods without food or drink, while our sever sat at the bar on her phone. Full disclosure: after expressing my frustration over the wait-time for food, and the obvious lack of quality, the server did remove the cost of the hanger steak from our bill. However, considering the issues, and the large gaps in service, (in a basically empty restaurant,) I don't feel like that was adequate. Don't think we will be returning. At least not anytime soon.

I have been going here every Saturday night for the past few months, and the jazz is always amazing! They have a good selection of specialty drinks (and beers), also bartenders are really great too.

Chill atmosphere for a relaxed night out with friends or for date night. Good drinks. A little pricier than your average Iowa cocktails, but worth it for the upscale, quality selection. Good food as well. Perfect place for a lunch or dinner meeting.
