Wasabi Tao is fabulous sushi! It is our go to place for a date and has nice atmosphere. My wife loves the specialty rolls and the nigiri sushi is perfect. I have eaten sushi in many places but none better than Wasabi Tao. You will not be disappointed!

Great food and service in a good downtown location. Full bar and good beer selection, too. I love their avocado salad, which is iceberg lettuce topped with sliced avocados, toasted sesame seeds and fresh ginger dressing. The ramen soup bowl is tasty and generously portioned, too. My dining companion got the Grand Marnier shrimp and, though this entree is a pricier than many of the other menu items, he was not disappointed. Crispy tempura shrimp and honey walnuts are served with a steaming bowl of white rice. This place is closed Sundays so plan accordingly.

I called in to order at 3:30 and the woman who answered the phone told me to call back at 4 because they were all on lunch and i asked if all the employees are on lunch because i had never heard that before. She said yes. I laughed and said ok because i was confused and she said yeah sorry and hung up on me. I am in no way entitled or feel as if they owe me something i just feel like her hanging up on me and them closing for a few hours in the middle of the day is unprofessional.

Based on the reviews I was very excited for this restaurant as it appeared to be one of the better sushi places in Iowa but I was disappointed in the food and service. The food was fine, but I've definitely had better sushi in the area. The service was inconsistent. We were well taken care of at first, but after we ordered a couple of drinks, an appetizer and a couple of rolls and that was the last we saw of the server until it was time for the check.
