To all the one star haters, I thank you for the seats you leave the rest of us. I enjoy the banter with staff. This is a no-nonsense fast paced diner. It's old and has character. This character comes through in the food. Diner food that's always hot and delicious. Hashbrowns cannot be beat anywhere in Iowa. If you don't try it you're missing out!

This is an awesome place for breakfast. Waveland has been around forever and is family owned and operated. Easily the best hash browns in Des Moines! Get here early to avoid a wait!

I had the Lumberman breakfast, biscuits and gravy over hash browns. Biscuits were the lightest and fluffiest I've ever had. Rest of the food was great, friendly staff too.

So this place is amazing! Seriously the best breakfast I've ever had. Their Skillets are top-notch and the food is of the highest quality.

So delicious! The hashbrowns were absolutely amazing! It's like eating at home with really good food! Great prices and great service. Worth the wait for a table.My only gripe was the sports team affiliation but it made the husband happy.
