I had a great experience at bridal couture, all thanks to Lyssa. Lyssa was incredibly attentive, and understood my vision perfectly. She asked all the right questions about what I may be looking for in a dress, and made spot on suggestions. She ended up being the one to pull and suggest the dress we've chosen for the big day! You can tell she really cares about her work, and there was no pressure for commitment at all. They have a wonderful selection of styles without going overboard.

PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTENDING THIS STORE!!!

I have selected one star only because Google requires a star designation. I do not believe they even deserve one star.

I attended at Bridal Couture in October 2016 to search for my perfect wedding dress. In total I tried on 10 dresses that day and I was in love with the very first one I tried on (so were my MOH and mom). Lyssa was the girl helping me out. She loved the dress on me too! It had a vintage look to it, and was a darker colour, which added even more to the look! I was in love!

Lyssa brought me out the same dress in White to see if I like that one. Everyone agreed, including myself, that the sample colour I had on was much nicer than the white. That was it...it was decided!

We went up to the counter where Lyssa prepared the invoice and measured me to order the correct size for my body as the sample was too large. She went over all details of the dress including name, size and colour. At the time she prepared the invoice, the dress was still at the back of the store in the change room. I paid my deposit and off we went.

My dress arrived in store in May 2017. I went into the store with my bridal party in June 2017 to try it on and take it home. I was so excited! However, as soon as I walked into the change room I could tell immediately that this was NOT the colour I had thought I purchased. The girl working at the time told me it was ivory, as indicated on the invoice. I quickly pulled up a picture of the sample I had tried on to compare and show her it was NOT the one I asked for. Of course they had already sold the sample, so it was not there to compare to. The girl was unable to help me and told me I would have to speak to the manager on Monday. I left the dress there and did not pay them anything that day. instead of coming home with a huge smile on my face, I came home to my fiance in tears and he was furious! He wanted me to have the dress I wanted!

I spoke with the manager Lena on a few occasions advising that they made a mistake and there was NEVER any discussion with Lyssa that this dress came in any other colour but the sample I tried on (which I am now told is called "Champagne") and the white one she showed me. At the time of purchase, myself, my mother and my MOH all understood that i wanted the style/colour of the sample I tried on. I told Lena that Lyssa could have wrote the colour of "mushroom" and I would have signed off on it as I do not know any better. I was trusting that Lyssa knew what she was doing!

The managers maintain this error is MY FAULT and will not agree to discount the dress in the slightest. They do not believe that Lyssa could have made this mistake as "all of our girls go through a lot of training and she could not have made this mistake". I have contacted the designer who advised that this dress was discontinued June 1, 2017 and they no longer have the pattern to even special order it for me. My mom tried calling every bridal shop from Windsor to Toronto that carry this designer hoping to find the dress, with no luck.

Thankfully it is the dress I wanted and the colour is the only issue. I did not want to go out and try on another 10 dresses. This was "the one". I have since compromised and picked up my dress/made the final payment but I would caution any bride/bridal party before going to this store to think twice! You only get married once and you deserve to have the dress that you want!

I am not usually the type to leave poor reviews of places online. And I'm torn doing this at all because to their credit, I absolutely love my wedding dress. However, there are some things that have been bothering me about my experience with Bridal Couture ever since I got married July 2016.

My wedding date was late July and I was told in January that I needed to pay an extra $200 fee to have it speed shipped to be on time for my wedding. They told me if I didn't pay for speed shipping, it would come in *mid-June* and that's definitely not enough time for alterations. Okay, no problem. I didn't want it to come mid-June so I paid the extra. They told me the projected date of arrival was May 2nd. This was perfect as my sister from out of town would be home for my bridal shower the following weekend and she could see it! Yay! The first week of May I called- no dress. Okay, I understood. Sister was disappointed. So they told me mid-May. Mid-May I called and no dress. Lady on the phone was really mean, but did apologize and *promised* end of May. I was getting really worried. It's almost a whole month late at that point. End of May came- no dress. See a pattern? Why did they keep telling me new dates if the dates were made up? First week of June- still no dress. I had specifically paid for it to not come in June! Dress finally came June 10th and they couldn't book me in to try it on until June 18th despite being told every phone call that I could have a fitting right when it came in.... I was just so hurt, so disappointed, and so stressed out.

At that first fitting, one of their poor seamstresses hurt her finger and got blood on the dress. Every few inches all around the base of it, as she had been hemming it. I felt bad, but I was also really shocked and really worried! This dress was the most expensive piece of clothing I've ever purchased and my wedding was so soon! They reassured me that blood on dresses was completely normal, that it happens all the time, and that they would get it out... and to their credit they DID get it out in the end... but I was so worried because I was only weeks away from the wedding and I didn't know if they were being honest or not! They just didn't have a track record of honesty with me. I left that dress fitting in tears because I loved my dress but they were incredibly rude with me, wouldn't reimburse me the money for the speed shipping, denied that they told me the dates that they told me, and there was blood on my gown that I wasn't confident they could get out.

There were girls working there that were kind. There were also girls working there that were so mean and hurtful... but honestly I think the issue is that Bridal Couture deals with so many brides that overall they just don't care anymore. There's nothing magic or special about these dresses or the girls coming in. They just don't care about the bride. Understandable I guess, but just sad and stressful to deal with when as a bride you already have so much to do planning a wedding. The dress is something you just really want to get right. If I could do it again, I'd get the same dress, but I'd drive hours not to have to get it at Bridal Couture.
