All American burger was ordered well done carryout w/ fries.. Got home and the meat was raw and looked to have only been fully cooked on one side, had to cook it myself.

It's been A while since I've been to this location, because of the Horrible customer service! The young lady at the counter was on her phone and to busy popping gum to realize what was going on. They charge too much for canned food at the buffet!

I came in for a hot fudge cake sundae. The ice cream and cake was delicious. The cake was fresh and our waitress was friendly. They couldn't find any desert menu's, so a waitress came over to recite the menu which was great. The restrooms were decent for this time of night.

I'm sure there'll be a few people not embedded in Detroit that will rag on this place, basing their opinions on the renovated newer places or the locals that have been visiting this place since the 60's. Pay attention to these types. Sure it looks like it did when it opened. The staff is nice and helpful and the food is better than other locations. The buffet is soul food because it's in the middle of the neighborhood, still remembering it's roots while the neighbors have moved out and the city changes. If you value a neighborhood atmosphere and good food then it's here.
