This place is amazing, and extremely authentic!
We got a bucket of coronitas, a whole chicken and an onslaught of tacos. Everyone loved the food. The chicken was tremendously flavorful and juicy, and delicious when rolled into the house made tortillas with beans, rice, and homemade salsas. The tacos are pretty small, so order a lot of them, but the meat is really tasty. Everything is authentic there, tacos are only served with onion and cilantro, but that’s all you need. The service was great; our waitress was really friendly, was super helpful guiding us through the menu for our first time there, and made sure we were enjoying everything.
I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get out there, and I’ll definitely be back soon!

Small taqueria has been growing slowly, improving its interiors feom very humble beginnings. Best grilled chicken and steak tacos. They now serve alcohol. Inexpensive.

Excellent Service!!!! Food is really good . not a big selection on the menu. But what they have is great. They also have BBQ

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Detroit. Everyone I bring here loves it. Cash only, great prices. The chicken is awesome. Only negative is I don't eat pork and they do not have vegetarian beans so i get double rice which is good.
The ceviche here is delicious!!!

Food was delicious! Bartender made me an awesome double shot drink. The waitress Mari; was very kind, knowledgeable and professional. Which made my experience all the more enjoyable. It was Everything I would've expected in Los Angeles or Mexico. One of the most Authentic restaurants in Detroit. I'll never eat that canned inauthentic food on Bagley st. again. Taqueria El Rey is my new spot.
