What the heck happened? This place used to be the best! The waiter was cocky, and had no knowledge of the menu, the hostess seated us at a table we did not want. (We asked for different) the place was almost deserted. It took a very long time for the waiter to even come see us, walked by a bunch of times. He was in a hurry, for what? This place used to be great, with employees that were glad that you were there, and treated you more than a tip. My food was a disappointment, although my wife said her dinner was OK. Then it took a long time to get the check. Funny, then I remembered a couple who were leaving when we arrived about waiting a long time for the check, and finally just getting up so he would be acknowledged. I sure hope this can change for the good of Ellensburg, we will not be going back unless I hear something different.
I see all the other great reviews, and that is what I felt like going in. We have been going here for a lot of years.

Stopped in while passing through—great little cafe! The sandwiches were very generous portions and tasty too. Cinnamon rolls were delicious as well. We’ll definitely be stopping in again the next time we’re driving through. Way better than stopping at a fast food joint!

This is a destination place to eat. I drive over an hour just to eat here. Doesn't matter what you order, it is all wonderful. House made soups as well as home baked bread. Only fresh ingredients, great service. Very small venue, you may have to wait a little bit during peak times.

Let's get the negatives out of the way first. The clean Restroom is often a "stand-in-line" affair to get to. The service can be a bit of an exercise of patience at peak hours.
Now for the good, and there are lots.
The venue is a re-purposed Church from days gone by. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is very good - hearty selection of comfort dishes, and satisfying morsels for dessert. There's always a "hits-the-spot" dish on the menu, and the two visits (in a year, all the way from Seattle - a two-hour drive) have been very satisfying. On worm days, there are a few outdoor spots to enjoy the weather with your canine friend. Ample street parking - but be respectful of the neighbors.

Stopped here for a late lunch on a drive to Seattle from Oregon. The food was great! I had the Build Your Own Lunch combo with soup and salad and the tomato soup of the day was amazing!! Best tomato soup I have ever had. The decor was fun and our waitress was super friendly. I'm just sad that I don't live closer to this restaurant.
