Was in an accident, so I rented a car from them. Did the online rental and used my debit card. Went through the whole process and was charged $230.42. Ubered my way there, and was told that debit cards are allowed, unless I had a return flight itinerary. Told them that there was no notice on the site (at least when I was on) about the "no debit card" policy. The attendant there told me that I would have to use a credit card, but as I don't have one, I had to call for a family member to be the "primary driver" even though I would be the one driving.
While I was waiting, I cancelled my reservation as it was putting a hold on my money, at least that's what I thought. I then get a notice that they would be refunding me my money, less $150 "no show" fee. I call my bank up, and let them know the situation, as I wasn't a "no show", that they wouldn't be accepting my debit card as actual payment even though they had already taken the money out. They told me that they would call the merchant and I would get my money.
Well, I was just told that Budget Cars refunded my money.....All $80.42 of it. Yes, they kept the $150 no show fee, even though I was there.

I rented a vehicle at Yosemite Airport for about a week and gassed it up fully when I returned the vehicle. I even took a picture of the final ending mileage and fuel level when dropping off the vehicle. The counterperson told me that as per their GPS system, I did not fill up my gas and I would be charged for it! I was flabbergasted and showed him the picture of the full gas level. He finally took out the planned charges after he went out to verify the vehicle himself. Whatever gas tracking system he is using is defective !!! That's the ugly experience side.
On the positive note, I need to kudos a gentleman named Dan and the lost-and-found staff at this airport facility for following through and recovering my prescription glasses that likely fell between the seats of my same rental vehicle without my knowledge. vehicle. After 6 weeks since making the lost and found report, Dan called about the finding. That made my day when I thought all was surely lost and gone. I was very pleased with the display of true professionalism and honesty. It more than made up the previous ugly experience described. Thank you.

I Will not be using Budget for my rental needs again. The gentleman who helped me was extremely rude. I thought I had left my Credit Card at home, because a woman on the phone had made it sound like I could pay with my Bank Card. When he asked for my credit card, I asked about using my bank card, and he somehow thought it was his responsibility to make me look like an idiot. Like dude, I get it, you hate your job, but that doesn't mean you can be an ass to your customers who are just asking a question. Then when I got to the car, it was filthy, smells like urine, trash all over on the inside of the car and part of the carpet floor has been ripped up. So far today, have not had a good experience using Budget, good job, you just pushed away another customer to Enterprise or anyone else.

I rented a car today and they gave me a car that clearly hadn't been cleaned. I went inside and they gave me another one and it is no better. You would think that someone would make sure the next car I got was cleaned well. Nope. On top of that the vehicle has large scratches and two dents on the side. I'm sorry but when I rent a car my understanding is that it will look presentable. I took pictures so it doesn't come back on me that I damaged the vehicle. I'm not happy with this experience and am stuck with this car for my trip to LA. Won't be renting with budget in the future. I hope budget looks into guaranteeing the cleanliness and quality of their vehicles before handing keys over to paying customers. I don't typically take the time to review service but this situation is very upsetting.

Went to pick up my rental and Customer service was extremely rude. We had all the necessary information and they still refused to give us our rental. Rep. Was sarcastic and condescending. Good price but not worth the hassle. Would never rent from here again.
