The NICU was an amazing place and we are so grateful to all the staff there for helping our little baby get healthy. Thank you all so much.

My mother had to have unexpected open-heart surgery. The surgeon was Dr. Shen and he did an outstanding job! Dr. Shen and his assistant Pam explained the complicated procedure to the entire family. They kept us updated throughout the operation and were constantly there checking on her after the surgery. The ICU team of nurses and doctors were also outstanding! We were so blessed to have these dedicated individuals there to care for my mother!

The labor and delivery part was fantastic. My doctors and nurses were so wonderful. But then when you went down the paternity ward to heal it was a whole new world. I had a c section and it was terrible from the beginning. They treat you like a number. I actually called my doctor crying because the nurse was so rude to me. After they took my catheter out they had me go the bathroom and just left me on the toilet. I just had major surgery and they just left me. They didn't change my sheets until the third day when I finally asked. Thank God for my husband he was my nurse.

The ER here isn't the best choice. First of all, it feels dirty & unkempt. Second, it's the hospital where the jail brings all it's prisoners & the police bring their DUI cases. It's not unusual to see a patient in the hall handcuffed to their bed, or police all over the ER guarding a prisoner room. Every time I go here, it's at least 4 hours- even if it's a rapid strep test. With so much staff there is zero reason to have to wait that long! The Triage is a joke. One time I came here & was very ill. I was laying on the floor crying in horrific pain & vomiting. The triage nurse did NOTHING. Finally my husband made him put me in a room. The lady that comes to get your insurance info took one look at me & ran to get the doctor. The doctor came in, told me I had gas pains and sent me home after he gave me morphine (morphine for gas pains??) The next night I had the same symptoms. I sat at home in horrible pain for 5 hours before I went back to the ER, since the first doctor was convinced it wasn't an emergent situation . This time another doctor told me it was my gallbladder & I needed emergency surgery or I would expire. I was furious that the first doctor just sent me home. I could have died! I feel every time I have come to this hospital, something hasn't been right.I brought my daughter here once for severe hives. We waited almost an hour to get into the triage area, so I left & brought her to another hospital where we were seen in 5 minutes since her hives were so bad. Family members that have come here have also had issues such as waiting over 8 hours for medications and impolite nursing staff. The only reason it got 2 stars is I did have a good experience with the labor/delivery unit & one ER nurse was amazing with my family member, but I won't go here anymore since my misdiagnosis that nearly cost me my life.
