Awesome Shepherd's Pie. Very fresh Cesar Salad with rich dressing. The Guinness Stout is served in a custom glass. The kitchen is fast. The place has a nice Irish ambiance. The only negative was no quick follow-up after the meal was served. Seems to be the norm these days. Oy Vey.

Good place to get a beer and some food. The best deal in town is a burger and a pint of beer for $10. My buddy said it was the best burger he's had in awhile. The shepherd's pie is good and the calamari is also not too bad. Always swing by when I'm in town.

Nice Irish Pub in downtown Hartford. It's a four star place for Hartford but would be three at best in some other cities. It's not the Pubs issue it is a Hartford issue.
While I will sound like a snob and harsh I live in Portland OR. The food scene and bar scene is really much better in the NW. The food and atmosphere in Hartford is just meh.
As for Vaughn's. Nice selection of beers. The food was solid and good. Just nothing great. But for Hartford it was some of the better Pub style food and atmosphere. Shepherds Pie and Fish and Chips were good. Through in a pint of Guinness and you will be singing Danny Boy.
If you are in Hartford give it a try. Better than most places.

Go Monday through Friday and get a great burger when you order a beer all for 9.99. The onion rings are awesome.

Been a regular at this place for a while now. Sheperds Pie is amazing. Great place for good European beers and good conversation. Crowd is usually in its late 20s/early 30s which leads to a bro-free zone for the most part.
