Excellent food dishes , even better cocktails . the barata wasnt very creamy 'under boiled ' but overall great cozy place .

Very unique restaurant with a country-relaxing style to it. Atmosphere is the best part - and the food is really good too. Ordering the gourmet cocktails was a good decision on our part.

This place is 1st class all the way! The food and service are always on point. I mistakenly left my LV wallet on the table. Upon realization of its disappearance, 2 hours later. I called the restaurant to find out that our server had turned it in to the manager. I would like to commend the owners for their loyal and trust worthy staff. I would refer anyone to this James Beard Awarding winning Chef's establishment.

Lovely place to get brunch. Loved the Oysters, Steak and Eggs, and Crab cakes.

UPDATE: 2 years later

I decided to return to Backstreet Cafe and I loved it. Much better than my first time there. I had the Oxtail and Poached Eggs and an off-the-menu Snapper. Both were incredible. Highly, highly recommended. I now changed my review to 5 stars.

Great menu and lovely patio for outdoor dining. I ordered pasta this time which waa full of flavor. My guest ordered shrimp & grits which were also tasty. Service started out ok but then he disappeared.
