My fiance and I were celebrating her birthday here and unfortunately we both got very ill after eating here. She got hospitalized with stomach pain and 105°F fever. While I had extreme stomach pain. I understand the risk of sushi but this place needs to triple check their suppliers so as to minimize that risk as much as possible. We both never had any issues with any sushi place before we tried this place. It was a scary ordeal.

The quality of ingredients as well as the detailed and careful execution of presentation of the dishes is amazing. The combination of exotic Japanese textures and flavors is really what makes this place stand firm as houstons top Japanese restaurant. Also the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend.

Kata is by far my favorite sushi spot in Houston. The staff is great and always helpful. There is nothing that I've tried that wasn't delectible.
If I had one complaint it would be that it's a little dark. It's a good mood for dates but kind of awkward if you're out with friends.

Had a great time with friends, ordered amazing sushi and really enjoyed myself. The place is very dimly lit and is fairly crowded but its not too loud. You can still sit and have a nice dinner! Would try EVERY AND ANYTHING on their menu. Also would explore their selection of sake. Make it a night out.

I have been here quite a few times and Kata Robata never fails me. For a slightly higher price, you get fresh fish that can be day and night different compared to other mediocre Japanese restaurants. I am always so grateful to the nice food here, for they really treat great food with due diligence. Their lunch menu is also nice and priced reasonably. Always one of my favorite.
