I love the ambiance and the food here is makes my tummy smile. Food here never goes to waste. Let me not forget the bartender Raven and his crafty mixes satisfies the palate and keeps me lit every time.

This is not a very "southern" place (and I've lived in / dined in South and North Carolina for almost four years). The shrimp and grits didn't have any flavor. The shrimps were nice, fresh and juicy, but the flavor just wasn't there. The eggs Benedict was also bland, and the side salad that it came with was bitter. It seems that the locals get the fried chicken, so that might be better than what we got.
Cons:

Live music was way too loud
Long wait time if you don't have a reservation (so make a last minute reservation if needed or they'll take a long time to seat you)

Trendy place. Creative dishes inspired by comfort food. Let's be clear, it's not a meat and three kind of place.
Friend green tomatoes were perfect. Chili biscuits were different, glad I tried them. Scallops did not disappoint. A bit pricey but a fun detour from the normal chains.

The fact that people are calling this great southern food is appalling and laughable. I expected to taste the best soul food and it was a total miss. The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is because the fried green tomatoes were delicious! That's the ONLY thing I enjoyed from this restaurant. The shrimp & grits were a miss and the flavor was off putting (if you want amazing shrimp & grits go to Dish Society)

Very welcoming, great food, great music, great staff, great location, and great service. I loved their grits the best I ever had. The only negative is that the pancake batter was messed up and our pancakes were burnt. The manager came over right away to take care of it and asked what I wanted as a replacement. Considering the rest of my party had their food already the food came out quick and hot.
