Wonderful idea. The old church facade was maintained and the interior turned into a public park commemorating African American history in and contributions to Houston.

Great place to visit and see how the history was kept alive. It can also be rented for events. There are history markers on the walls that tell the story of the church and its history. No religion is needed, the place give one space to feel and think.

I love this "park." A Houston gem.
It's a fabulous resurrection of a church that burned, into an outdoor space. It's part museum, part park, and part reprieve in the middle of a gentrification neighborhood.

It's pretty here. Just wish the dog owners would pick up their dog's crap. There is literally a trash can and roll of doggie bags right in the park.
