Not 15 minutes ago I walked into Parlor restaurant, which was recommended by the King Hotel, and was refused a seat. Dining solo for almost 15 years, I have never been refused a seat. The woman at the reception desk offered a seat at the bar. Just what I'm looking for, a seat at the bar surrounded by drinking men. I asked twice if a table could be cleared and was told "I cannot sit one person at a four top." Oh well, seems she's short sighted. I'll be in Jackson for 2 months on business and won't spend any money at The Parlor.

Great place to go. We stayed at the Hilton near by and popped in an hour before closing, but we never felt rushed. Felt relaxed. Service was excellent 5*. Food was sourced locally or made on site. We had starter main and pudding, all tasted really good. Highly recommend to go for a drink or food.

Had lunch here. Sat at the bar alone. I wouldn't typically do that on my lunch break, but it was not crowded and the bar is quite nice and quiet. The service was excellent, as always. Total for large dish of Jambalaya & unlimited tea, and taxes was $16.00. This is a favorite place of mine to grab lunch when I am working downtown. Service is top notch, food is excellent, and the place is very classy. Would highly recommend. I always go between 11-11:30 am and I never have to wait.
