Great place to go with friends or by yourself. A friendly amazing staff,drink specials and live music on the weekends or you can go to watch the games on one of their many tvs.

The Downtown Tavern has been a favorite spot for years. Best locally owned spot to go for a drink or live music and all of the staff and even the owners are fantastic!

Like the song says, "I love this bar. It's my kind of place." Think of it as a Gen X honkeytonk. I may be a Baby Boomer, but that doesn't mean I can't like a tavern like this.

Used to be better, basically. The smoke smell is there and lingers on the clothes a little, but it isn't nearly as bad as the Tap. Used to have courtyard, stage, and ping pong outside, but now, it does not. No draft beers. More live music than other places, but yeah, it's really loud. When there isn't live music, it's pretty quiet and chill. Free real darts. Happy hour prices aren't that happy. Get in before 7 or 8 to avoid covers. Good location for Lift apartment dwellers, and with pub crawls with the other 5 pubs downtown, DDT is one of the few reasons to be downtown Jackson. They sell cigars and lighters offhand which is above expectation.
