They have great customer service and great prices! My yorkie was sick like a year ago and since it was late to drive to Herschel (40 min) i took him to one on Tinseltown Plaza (5min) gave me 3 medications over priced!!! 3 days later my dog was still sick so i drove to Herschel that day he got 2 med. and 3 cans of special food my dog was great the next day and i paid less than half of what i had paid at other clinic...wont go anywhere else!

First vet I have been to since moving to Jacksonville. Place was small, old, dirty, smelly. Vet listened to why I brought my dog in to see them and then dismissed my observations. She went to pick up my dog (17 pound maltese mix who is all fur) and said she thought he should lose some weight. I had brought him in because he's older (14) and losing weight and I was concerned. So much for listening to me. They ran a blood test to make sure his markers were good and I agreed with that approach. The vet techs took two vials of blood and had to stab him a couple of times. When finished they didn't wipe off the blood or put alcohol on it, etc. Room was hot. Good part is they ran the test right away instead of having to come back or get a phone call. I saw no concern or empathy for my dog. We will not go back.

The appointment itself was quick and easy, but I did have a few issues with some other things. First off, the place did seem a little dirty and hot, but I understand a lot of animals, especially dogs, come through each day, so that's not the hugest issue. I did feel like things I said weren't even heard, like I tried to explain that my cat isn't necessarily fat, but rather has a weirdly shaped body that I've seen everyday since she's grown full size which has been about 2 years. I also explained that I do everything I can do diet and exercise her and it still seemed like I was being questioned about it. I literally explained that I throw the treats so that she'll run after them. I play with her everyday and feed her small portions of food twice a day. I still felt a little judged for her weight when that's honestly just her body type (I do agree she could lose a pound or two). Still, the vet herself (the doctor) was really nice and personable; it was the other staff who were actually quite rude to me. The lady at the front desk was not that nice to me. She actually seemed annoyed when I walked in and told her I had an appointment but that I was a little early. She hardly looked at me and didn't smile, but with other people she would talk to them. It made me feel terrible. Separately, another vet kept giving me dirty looks. When the doctor asked me what treats I gave her, I completely just couldn't remember because I was so tired and said "The most common one" (temptations). The vet (not the doctor) rolled her eyes and looked visibly annoyed. It made me feel horrible. The last thing that really made me not want to go back there is when I was leaving, the vet assistant or whoever she was (the same one who rolled her eyes) walked me to the check out guy and commented on how I'm basically the same weight as my cat (implying that I look like I'm 8 pounds). I'm 23 years old and naturally very thin and small. I already have to deal with everyone commenting rude things about my weight and I don't want to have to worry about that when I take my cat to a vet appointment. It's ridiculous because she would never say anything like that to an overweight person, like "Wow you're like 300 of your cats put together." It was mean and hurtful and I won't be coming back here. They also explained nothing to me and just gave me all of this stuff. They pulled out a needle and gave her a shot of what I think was her rabies shot without even informing me, so I left the place feeling a little bit uneasy and uniformed about what shot she was given, etc. I'm disappointed because I had high hopes for the place and it's really close to where I currently live, but I think I'd rather make the drive further and pay more at a place where I won't be body shamed and ridiculed/not really informed about anything being done to my cat.

Love coming here. They always treat my dog great and great prices. I am a little confused and not sure if anyone can let me know of an after hours number for emergencies? Thanks in advance 🙂
