Fun and tasty cocktail menu. Creative bar food menu. Cool decor and vibe. It was a bit sleepy around 6:00 on a Friday. Overall, nice spot.

I just realized today that I have never reviewed Affäre on Google. This is wrong and I am correcting it immediately. Affäre, simply put, is one of the best restaurants in Kansas City. While the cuisine is considered to be German, it is the very definition of fine dining. Whether Chef Martin is preparing the more traditional German fare, or you go on a day that they have their take on more traditionally American food (as we did on Thanksgiving), you are bound to have a wonderful experience and will leave satiated. The facility itself is beautiful, the staff is well trained and do a great job, and Martin and his wife are simply the best. My wife and I love Affäre so much we actually chose to have our wedding there back in 2015. All of this is to say, if you're on the fence about trying this place, get off the fence and make a reservation, or just pop in. Whether you go for lunch, dinner, brunch, or some other special occasion, you are bound to enjoy it and begin thinking about when you'll make your next visit!

This is one of KC's finest restaurants. The chef will create something incredible for a special occasion, if provided enough time.
It's also unique the they buy all local produce including wild game if available.
Martin Heuser, the chef, has also served the Queen of England. His wife, who runs the front of the restaurant, is a as charming and attentive as the food is delicious..

I had the cobb salad which was delicious and paired with unlimited mimosas made it a fantastic brunch. And the live music made it even more enjoyable.

Slick decor. Friendly staff. I had the Warsteiner on talk. The half cut appetizer was big enough for two people. The currywurst served with red cabbage, sauerkraut, and roasted potatoes was excellent. Definitely worth trying if you are in Kansas City and want a nice meal.
