Been with Oldham Midwest for 5 years and it literally changed my life and my families lives for the better in so many ways. I get to help and serve people on a daily basis by protecting their family. I also am able to enrich my own life and have found the financial freedom that I could never obtain working in retail. I bought a new home and two new cars in the last three years and finally paid off those pesky student loans.I thank God everyday for my opportunity here, but it comes with a price. You have to work and make some early sacrifices. Do that and you can have anything you want.

Pretty funny that the 3, 5 star reviews for this company all come from; the owner, the district manager, and his lackey. My husband worked for this company for a short while and what i have to say about it is this. As far as an insurance agency goes its not a bad place. They operate like a club because they tend to work with unions but they will take anyone if you know an employee. Their main tactic is pressure sales where they claim they can't come back out or rerun your name through the system when truthfully they just don't want to waste their time if you aren't interested.

Now as far as employment goes i can't warn you away enough. They claim to support their employees with "leads" gathered from local unions. What this boils down to is unions send their employees cards in the mail to send in for free benefits then you call those people all day long trying to setup appointments to come into their homes to sell them Life/ADD/Term insurance. You are paid completely on commission and my husband personally got a "Lead Packet" that was thoroughly picked through prior to it getting to him. After the initial he received 2 more lead packets. One of which was mostly Cancelled plans in the heart of KC MO and the other was for the outskirts of St. Joe. Their goal for you as an employee will be for you to recruit others into their office for a 500$ first time sale referral bonus because they make much more than that off of it.

In the end its setup as a pyramid scheme that happens to sell decent insurance. DO NOT BE TRICKED into thinking it is any different than a more well known insurance agency. YOU ARE SELF EMPLOYED THROUGH AIL they do not pay any of your taxes and will quickly stop supporting you if you aren't getting enough referrals/Sales each week. I post this as a warning to first time and veteran sales man alike. All pay is commission based assuming your plans stay in force for a minimum 12 months and you will be required to pay back any of the cancelled balance you might owe back.
