If there was a way to put less than one star I would. This place was horrible and I've eaten at Cracker Barrel several times before stopping at this one. It took an hour and a half to get breakfast food and when it came out it was burnt and cold. They also did not have one of our meals because the ran out, mind you this was not told to us. When asked to see the manager, it took 15 minutes to get him to the table. He then proceeded to tell us that they are "$1500 over budget and that this was the best he could do" needless to say we left soon after the conversation with him. I am in complete awe that Cracker Barrel would treat their customers the way we were treated. We will not be going back and a phone call to Corporate will be happening.

I dined alone on my last trip to Cracker Barrel, and had a nice dining experience. My waitress was friendly and attentive, and the food was decent. I had the grilled fish with mac & cheese, baked sweet potato, and turnip greens. Unfortunately the mac & cheese was bland and lukewarm....and the sweet potato had a slightly bitter taste, and was not good at all. The fish was very good, and the turnip greens with cornbread was quite tasty. I also love shopping in their gift store! I can always find unique and beautiful clothing and toiletries, and gift items that you don't see anywhere else. Prices are moderate, and they always have good sales!

My favorite place to eat in Lafayette. Prices are low but the food is always very good. The atmosphere of the place is like a country log cabin lodge which I love. Good place to bring the whole family or to sit and have a cup of coffee.

Typically I would rate this place a 4, but today I went there for a take out order. Ordered a steak and a burger.
After returning home, I live about 40 minutes from them, I found that I did not have the salad. The waitress asked what kind of dressing I wanted. So I will NEVER have a take out order without checking. The moral of my experience. I called and was asked if I wanted to come back, duh @ 40 minutes each coming and going. NO
Otherwise I love the stuff they sell in the merchandise department.

Service was wonderful. The food was awful! My husband ordered open faced roast beef with gravy over it and when it came out, the roast beef was more than half fat, the toast was tough, and the gravy was cold. We both ordered fried breaded okra which was burned and so hard we had to use our finders to pick up each piece. I ordered fried shrimp which were nearly burned, the cheese rice was lukewarm, and my broccoli didn't come out with my order. I managed to eat mine only because I hadn't had anything to eat all day. The waitress brought the roast beef to be redone but altho there was no fat, the meat and gravy were cold. We also ordered 2 biscuits but we got hockey pucks instead. I have never had good luck eating at a Cracker Barrel - either lousy service or even worse food. I might eat at this one again ONLY if I can't find another decent place to eat.
