Where to start...
The waiting room is filled with vintage 80's era furniture and smells of 12 day old cat urine. The 'children's' play area is nothing more than a pile of toys in the corner that are no doubt covered with herpies and lead based paint. As I approached the 'receptionist' I am greeted by a very unpleasant woman in here mid to late twenties with a shirt on 3 sizes smaller than what she needs. I learned her name quickly by the clearly visible tattoo on her back. She shoved a clip board in my hands and told me to have a seat and fill out the forms. After my wife filled them out for me (I was in too much pain to focus), I waited an hour to finally make it inside the torture chamber. I was called in along with another man that had arrived 30 minutes after I did yet he was promptly examined and SENT HOME before I was even spoken to by the 'doctor'. This gave me ample time to examine my surroundings. If you like a dentist that takes absolutely no pride in the condition of his/her facilities, this is the place for you.
They dropped more money on their stereo system (which was blaring 102.5 loudly) than they do on modernizing their equipment. The chairs were crummy and the light above me had cobb webs hanging from it. As I listened in to the 'dentist' examining the gentleman to my left, I heard what I thought was the patient's cell phone go off...wrong. The dentist actually, with glove on, reaches into his pocket and answers his cell phone! He had a short and rude conversation with someone about pain killers and then proceeded to examine the patient once more. As 'Paranoid' by Black Sabbath came on I realized that I should probably get up and walk out but I was caught by one of the dental assistants. She asked me what I wanted done. I kindly explained to her my situation and that she would know best. Just then a maintenance man walked behind me with a power drill in his hand and jokingly asked if anyone needed their teeth drilled as he revved it up.
The 'dentist' finally came by and scraped around in my open cavity for a couple minutes and then decided that there was nothing I could do except take antibiotics and hydrocodon. But don't forget that somehow was worth $85. They took an x-ray with their machine built in 1976 and sent me home.
I will NEVER return here and advise no one in their right mind to do the same. Than again, this is Polk County and that may have been the best dentist in town.
